Arepas El Cacao is a Venezuelan restaurant tucked into the bustle of South Kirkman Road in Orlando, offering a casual dining experience centered around traditional arepas and classic Venezuelan flavors. This spot is best for anyone craving authentic, hearty dishes like their popular arepas stuffed with a variety of fillings, from black beans and plantains to chicken and queso blanco. The menu also features comfort staples such as asado negro and cheese-filled tequeños, along with refreshing fruit juices like guava and soursop, which help balance the richness of the food.

The atmosphere is practical and straightforward, geared more toward enjoying the food than lingering for ambiance. Many locals stop by for a filling lunch or a casual dinner, with portions generous enough to share—often making it a good choice for pairs or small groups. While the setting is informal, it's clear the focus here is on delivering flavor and familiarity rather than fine dining. Some visitors come during later hours, driven by cravings for Venezuelan street food classics like the arepa con chicharrón.

One thing to note is that the dining area can sometimes get noisy, especially when groups use speakerphone conversations, which may affect visitors looking for a quieter meal. The staff, known for being welcoming, handle their service efficiently, contributing to a comfortable if lively local spot experience. This makes Arepas El Cacao a solid go-to for those who want a genuine taste of Venezuelan cuisine without pretense, particularly popular with longtime fans and newcomers eager to explore something beyond the usual Latin American offerings in Orlando.

I love the arepas here. And the smoothies are always good. I recommend build your own with black beans, avocado, plantain, queso Blanco, queso de Mano. You can add chicken instead of one of those cheeses, but the chicken makes the arepa a little too wet.

I love getting food here, I've been coming here for years. However, I never sit inside because no one seems to care that guests have no problem talking on speakerphone and ruining it for the people who want to eat inside. I think the staff should not let people talk on speakerphone, it disturbs every one else.

A dios mio. I love this place. The food is beyond incredible and the service is sensational. A true hidden gem in Orlando. Especially for those late night cravings. You have to get the Arepa con chicharrón it’s the only way

The food was delicious! The service was excellent and it has a great vibe. The portion sizes are huge. Two people can share on plate. Overall the best place to get an arepa!

Great service and good food. The soup was very tasty. A pleasant atmosphere for breakfast or lunch after work or when you don't want to just cook. The girls Carmen and Khris are very attentive to their customers.

My little sister took me here for dinner and I was blown away by the flavor! I ordered the Cacao 3 with a passion fruit smoothie. It was a 10/10. The Cacao 3 consisted of black beans, avocados, shredded beef, plantains and mozzarella cheese. The house made hot sauce brought just enough heat to the meal. I’m definitely going back. The service was quick and friendly. The atmosphere was clean and small with outdoor sitting available. Thank you for a wonderful experience.
